The Global Nexus Initiative is a two-year initiative announced by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and the Partnership for Global Security (PGS), which aims to encourage international policy experts to work together to find ways to address climate change, nuclear energy and global security challenges.
NEI and PGS officially launched the GNI project on August 12 with a core Working Group of 17 experts. These multidisciplinary policy professionals are drawn from the nongovernmental, academic, and private sectors in the United States, France, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, and United Arab Emirates. They have experience working on energy, environmental, and security issues from various platforms, including national governments, international institutions and the private sector. They will convene regularly for workshops, during which supplementary subject area and regional experts will provide additional ideas and new perspectives on the GNI project.
