Press Briefing on the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit

In advance of the fourth and final Nuclear Security Summit, leading experts will brief reporters on the key issues to watch for and the critical next steps world leaders must take to safeguard nuclear and radiological materials from ending up in the possession of terrorists. President Obama launched the Summit process in 2009 to secure all vulnerable nuclear materials worldwide. 

Featured speakers will include Partnership for Global Security’s Kenneth N Luongo and Michelle Cann. Additionally, the final report by the Arms Control Association and Partnership for Global Security, The Nuclear Security Summit: Accomplishments of the Process also will be released at the briefing.  

The briefing is presented by the Fissile Materials Working Group (FMWG), a coalition of 80 civil society organizations from around the world working to provide actionable policy solutions to keep the world safe from nuclear terrorism.
