What advice do you have for current WINS Academy learners or those considering enrolling?
Nuclear safety and security are very important for our countries, hence good training in this field helps us in our performance and to protect the nuclear material and radioactive sources that we use in the peaceful production of nuclear energy.
What role do alumni play locally to promote nuclear security and demonstrable competence within their country and institutional network?
Local graduates of the WINS Academy programme can help to train staff within their own organisation, as well as conducting refresher workshops and seminars on relevant topics to keep skills up to date.
How do local and international networks help nuclear security professionals strengthen practices and systems in their own institution?
Social networks maintain communication between specialists, so they can update each other on new developments and share their experiences as well as best practices. Specialists can also complete distance training or promote online courses within their networks.
What was your WINS Academy elective? Why did you choose it?
I chose Radioactive Source Security Management because my work centres on radiation protection and I work directly with radioactive sources.
What inspired you to become a WINS Academy Ambassador?
I wanted to take the opportunity as to share my experiences and promote training courses.
