Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) will launch its 2020 Nuclear Security Index on 22 July at 17:00 CEST with an online event.
The event will feature Ernest J. Moniz, Co-chair and Chief Executive Officer of NTI; Ambassador Laura Holgate, NTI’s Vice President for Materials Risk Management; Samantha Neakrase, NTI’s Senior Director for Materials Risk Management; and Hubert Foy, Director and Senior Research Scientist at the African Centre for Science and International Security (AFRICSIS) and member of the NTI Index International Panel of Experts.
This year, the report features a new Radioactive Source Security Assessment, in addition to assessing the security of highly enriched uranium and plutonium against theft and the security of nuclear facilities against an act of sabotage.
