Registrations are now open for the Counter-Insider Threat Social & Behavioral Science Summit 2021, which is a 30-day virtual event for awareness-raising and training on insider threats. This year’s summit focuses on the significance of cultural intelligence and how it can be utilised to identify, minimise, and prevent suspicious behaviour.
Each week in September, the summit showcases keynotes, webcasts as well as other resources from prominent subject matter experts. The upcoming keynote will feature Dr. Kirk Kennedy, a Senior Behavioural Researcher, on the topic of overcoming cognitive and interpersonal biases.
The concept of “insider threat” is essentially a human issue resulting from a combination of individual and environmental variables, making social and behavioural sciences the correct domain to begin addressing this problem.
The broader summit – which is a nod to National Insider Threat Awareness month – is hosted by The Threat Lab and sponsored by the National Insider Threat Task Force. The audience of the event is intended to be counter-insider threat professionals, human resources specialists, policy writers, organisational leaders and more.
One of the main objectives of this summit is to highlight the importance of cultural intelligence at both the organisational and individual levels and how cultural intelligence can be enhanced to reduce insider threats.
