Comfort Offornedu is Deputy Superintendent of Corps

Comfort is a WINS Ambassador, and currently serves as the General Secretary of Women in Nuclear (WiN), Nigeria chapter.
A Fellow, School on Radiation Technologies, World Nuclear University (WNU) and pioneer member of the Nigeria Association of Medical Physicists (NAMP), her career began as a young female Physicist in 2010, becoming a First Responder in the CBRNE Department of NSCDC. Over the years, Comfort has represented NSCDC and Nigeria in several conferences, workshops, reviews, and training, both locally and internationally.
With special interests in mentoring women in Nuclear Energy & Radiation applications; CBRN emergency response, and CBRN crime scene management, Comfort is a front line educator who also trains many CBRN first responders at both State and Federal levels.
A certified Instructor by the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW); and also a member of the Education and Training Appraisal (EduTA) National Steering Committee (NSC) which has the mandate to develop the National Strategy for Education and Training in Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety as well as establish a Technical Working Group to carry out the operational task.
Comfort successfully served as the Chairperson of Women in Nuclear-Nigeria (WIN-Nigeria) Central Planning Committee for the 2022 International Women's Day celebration.
During the celebration, she gave talks on STEM education, Nuclear Energy & Radiation applications at a Secondary School outreach programme as part of the event.
Ms Offornedu, has served dedicatedly in many committees established for the maintenance of peace and order in Nigeria, especially in the areas of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives material usage and applications.
Ms Offornedu holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Physics from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria, as well as a Post Graduate's degree in Radiation and Medical Physics from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Nigeria. She is fluent in English.
