Nuclear Security is synonymous with National Security as any incident would have far reaching effects on people, the environment and the nation as a whole. Therefore, Pamela's role involves the ongoing process of establishing Nigeria's nuclear security regime, ensuring coordination and cooperation between and among relevant nuclear security stakeholders as well as ensuring best practices. She is the Lead officer, nuclear security in that Office, as well as the POC, Nigeria EU CBRNE Risk Mitigation Centre of Excellence. She has contributed to national policies such as the National Security Strategy 2014 amd its review in 2019, the National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy 2020, the National Chemical and Biological Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan 2021, and the National Crisis Management Doctrine. She has also contributed to developing the National Risk Register, the Nuclear Security Support Centre Strategic document, the National Policy on Nuclear Security Detection Architecture amongst others. She has attended several national, regional and international trainings, workshops and meetings representing the Office and Nigeria where she was a participant, speaker and/or facilitator. The WINS modules are a fundamental resource for stakeholders and have increased her knowledge of nuclear security and the management of a NS programme. She encourages colleagues to build capacity with these resources and other programmes and e-learning platforms available. Pamela volunteers as a founding member and interim Vice President, Women in Nuclear, Nigeria Chapter as well as an Ambassador, World Institute for Nuclear Security.
