The war in Ukraine has created instability, affecting the global economy relating to energy requirements. It has furthermore put into question and raised concerns with regard to State actors, the safety of nuclear facilities and the security of nuclear and other radiological materials. What is happening is unprecedented and needs to be told and remembered.
Throughout this time, WINS has been fortunate to be working closely with Women in Nuclear (WiN) Ukraine and other stakeholders and friends of Ukraine to investigate the impact of the war.
Voices of Ukraine (VoU) is a vital and important project of work that has captured thoughts, feelings and the truth about what is happening as a result of the continued threat and presence of foreign forces in Ukraine.
The aim of this webinar was to hear from WiN Ukraine and guest speakers about the recently published VoU Volume I; to understand more about the personal accounts and testimonies; and to better understand and discuss what this means for global nuclear security and what can be done and what needs to be done.

The webinar series was facilitated by Roland Fletcher, Head of the WINS Academy and Whitney Isaacs, Academy Project Manager. The panel comprised WiN Ukraine President Margaryta Rayets, WiN Ukraine Vice President Anastasiia Nechytailo and invited guest speakers.
The webinar was delivered in English and Ukrainian (with simultaneous tranlsation), using Zoom as the online platform. The session was recorded and posted on the WINS Events Webpage and promoted via WINS Newsletters for WINS Alumni and WINS Members.
WINS promotes and actively encourages gender parity and diversity. The event included female and male subject matter experts and WINS invited delegate participation from a broad and diverse audience with a passion for enhancing nuclear security.
