The World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS), in collaboration with the Colombian Ministry of Mines and Energy, is proud to present a groundbreaking tabletop exercise (TTX) titled "Theft of a Fully Fuelled Microreactor." This event will offer professional women from the Latin American nuclear sector a unique opportunity to engage in responding to a simulated nuclear security incident.
A tabletop exercise is a collaborative, discussion-based simulation where participants analyze their potential roles and responses during a hypothetical emergency. This TTX is designed to illustrate various roles within nuclear security and highlight the skills necessary for managing complex scenarios. The exercise will focus on advanced reactor technology, cybersecurity, and transport security—fields where women and individuals from diverse backgrounds are notably underrepresented.
We are targeting a diverse group of around 20 female professionals from Latin America who have responsibilities related to nuclear security. This includes representatives from nuclear operating organizations, information security entities, regulatory bodies, technical support organizations, academia, law enforcement agencies, and relevant international organizations.
Our aim is to challenge conventional perceptions of nuclear security experts, promote diversity within the field, and foster regional cooperation. Participants will benefit from knowledge sharing, networking opportunities, and an enriched understanding of nuclear security practices.
We look forward to welcoming you to this pivotal event and advancing the role of women and diverse professionals in nuclear security.
