The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) and WINS conducted an International Best Practice Workshop on the Security of Radioactive Sources–The Road to Sustainability and Resilience.
This workshop provided a forum in which stakeholders from countries with mature regulatory regimes can discuss the current status of their security arrangements for high activity radioactive sources, especially in regard to the management of sustainability and the resilience of sources to the threat. In addition, participants had the opportunity to reflect on what still needs to be done and to share their experiences, perspectives and lessons learned.

Increasing radioactive source sustainability and resilience to threat requires close communication and cooperation among a wide range of international stakeholders, including regulators, licensees, security vendors, researchers, law enforcement and international organisations.
