INS Plans International Training Course on the Security of Nuclear and Radioactive Materials in Transport

WINS is pleased to announce that International Nuclear Services (INS) is planning a 5-day training course that addresses the challenges associated with protecting nuclear and radioactive material from unauthorised removal and sabotage during transport.

As one of the world’s leading international transporters of specialist nuclear and other radioactive materials, INS has over 40 years of experience transporting Category I and other nuclear materials around the globe.

Examples of the training course’s learning objectives include:

  1. The types of threats facing nuclear and radioactive materials in transport and the potential consequences should theft and/or sabotage occur.
  2. International recommendations regarding the security of nuclear and radioactive materials in transport.
  3. The practical implementation of these recommendations, including any challenges and opportunities, to ensure the security of nuclear and radioactive material in transport.
  4. How the different disciplines of security (e.g. cybersecurity, determination of trustworthiness) can be applied in transport and how they work together to provide effective security.

The course will include presentations from international experts, practical exercises and group discussions. For more information, see INS Transport Training Course.
