The University of Cumbria (United Kingdom) is offering a Masters degree in Nuclear Security Management. The course is offered part time, enabling you to learn whilst you continue earning, and takes two year to complete.
This vocational degree is designed to focus on producing nuclear security professionals who have mastered the science, art and engineering of effective nuclear security management and have gained practical skills for use in their workplace. In this way, the University of Cumbria aims to support the sustainability of growth of global capability building in nuclear security management. It is envisaged that graduates from this programme will be some of the senior decision makers of the future nuclear industry and regulation, in the UK and abroad. The course is aimed at those employed in the nuclear sector, in industry or as regulators or other related industries.
The University of Cumbria has worked closely with the nuclear industry, non-nuclear industries and regulators. The syllabus has been based on the International Atomic Energy Agency (www.iaea.org) and World Institute for Nuclear Security (www.wins.org) syllabuses for nuclear security management education to ensure it both represents international best practice and is applicable in any part of the world.
