We are pleased to announce that on 20 September 2017, the IAEA received official notification from the Mission of Romania that it was subscribing to several Joint Statements, including the Joint Statement on Certified Training for Nuclear Security Management (INFCIRC/901) that was sponsored by Canada.
As demonstrated in the following quote from INFCIRC/901, this joint statement supports the efforts of the WINS Academy to provide professional development opportunities for nuclear security:
We welcome other States, supported by industry and civil society, to provide a tangible commitment in support of the WINS Academy and certified professional development for nuclear security. Together we can help to ensure that nuclear and other radioactive materials remain secure under the management of demonstrably competent professionals.
With this commitment, Romania becomes the 14th country to subscribe to INFCIRC/901.
