Staff Transitions at WINS

We reluctantly say goodbye to Jad Hammal…

With great reluctance, we are saying goodbye today to Jad Hammal, WINS’ Programme Manager, who has served WINS in a variety of capacities over the last eight years. In fact, he was one of WINS’ first employees. Following is a personal note from Jad:

‘Over the last 8 years, I was fortunate enough to work with a group of very talented and dedicated colleagues. As the WINS Programme Manager, I met and engaged with WINS Members and other colleagues working in our “nuclear village” around the world. I will always be grateful for the opportunities WINS provided me and for the experiences I was able to collect over the years. Although it is with great sadness that I am announcing my resignation from WINS as of mid-June, I am also delighted to announce that I will be joining the Security Training Department at the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) as one of their Professional Security Instructors and am now looking forward to the new experiences I will be collecting in the UAE!’

In response, WINS Executive Director Roger Howsley said that,

‘Jad has made a wonderful contribution to the growth and reputation of WINS worldwide and led countless workshops and other events. Based on the incredibly positive feedback from all the attendees and our own experience of working with Jad, he will be sorely missed by the many people with whom he has worked. We all wish him the very best in his new position at ENEC and for the future.’

…And welcome Alvaro Acevedo

We also want to welcome Alvaro Acevedo, who has been hired to fill the Programme Manager position. Alvaro comes to us from Spain, where he previously worked as an engineer in a nuclear power plant. You will be seeing his smiling face soon in WINS workshops and events around the world.
