In September 2024, Ms. Asel Khamzayeva joined WINS as Senior Project Manager. Ms. Khamzayeva has a long and solid background in the nuclear industry, having commenced her career at Kazatomprom, the national uranium mining operator of Kazakhstan, in the early 2000s.
Since then, she has engaged in a variety of roles within the nuclear sector. In 2016, she joined the IAEA’s Division of Nuclear Security as a Nuclear Security Officer.
More recently in 2020, she became involved in promoting the INSSP programme, where she oversaw efforts in 23 countries across both Central Asia and Southern Africa.
