In honour of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), the WINS Gender Programme highlighted WINS’ work to invest in women – which aligned with the UN Women’s IWD theme – through an extensive social media campaign that ran for two weeks in March. The campaign was featured on all of WINS’ social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
The WINS “Invest in Women” social media campaign was divided into two parts: investing in women through professional development and promoting organisational change.
The first part of the campaign featured how WINS invests in women through ongoing professional development for professionals in the nuclear sector at the WINS Academy. The WINS Academy – which offers a broad range of learning programmes related to nuclear security – has scholarships available to women interested in further developing their skillset. The campaign amplified the voices of Alumni and Ambassadors who spoke about the benefits of the WINS Academy.
The second leg of the campaign involved showcasing how WINS invests in women through promoting positive organisational change to advance gender equality, diversity and inclusion. WINS has published two companion documents for organisations: the Self-Assessment Tool and the Reporting Framework.
The Self-Assessment Tool is designed to assess the maturity of an organisation with regards to gender equality, diversity and inclusion – and to then create an action plan to enhance its maturity in all of these areas.
The Reporting Framework guides readers through each step of the reporting process and provides an overview of how other organisations in the nuclear sector are currently reporting in these areas.
WINS’ work to advance gender equality, diversity and inclusion in nuclear security is ongoing and present throughout all areas of our work.
