WINS Now Accepting Nominations for Charles Curtis Award for Excellence in Nuclear Security

The World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS) is pleased to announce it is now accepting nominations for the Charles Curtis Award for excellence in the field of nuclear security.

The award is named for Charles Curtis, founding president of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), a Washington-based nonprofit, nonpartisan global security organisation focused on reducing nuclear and biological threats imperiling humanity.

To be considered for the award, individuals must have made contributions to the advancement of nuclear security. Please note that you cannot nominate yourself and that nominations should be sent to WINS@info.org with the subject line “Nomination for the Charles Curtis Award”. Please write no more than one page on why the individual nominated should be considered for the award.

The deadline to submit nominations via email is Monday, 2 September 2024.

When the award was initially announced, Charles Curtis remarked, “I am thrilled that WINS, an organisation NTI founded, has created this award to celebrate the achievement of professionals in the nuclear security domain. As the world becomes less secure, and the capabilities of threat actors more advanced, our shared challenges are immense. We therefore must recognise and celebrate those who rise to the occasion and serve the cause of reducing the risk for all humanity.”
