The first Ambassador event of 2021 took place on 25 March. A total of 20 Ambassadors attended the webinar, which lasted from 16:30 – 17:45 CET. The purpose of the event was to introduce Ambassadors to WINS’ Executive Director Lars van Dassen and to provide an update on the launch of the WINS International Best Practice Guide on Advancing Gender Parity in Nuclear Security. The event was also an opportunity for Ambassadors to share ideas with one another on current and future issues in the field, on how they perceive their role as Ambassador and how WINS can best provide support in this role.
A unique feature of this webinar was the Q&A session that developed into an open discussion on important aspects to be considered and addressed in the future by both WINS and Ambassadors. By using an innovative approach, the entire group was able to see one another and engage in a true dialogue between participants. The discussion touched on the following topics:
