Thirteen Thai specialists from the Office of Atoms for Peace, Chulalongkorn University and the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology completed training on ISO 29993:2017 certification requirements for learning services. WINS and the European Nuclear Safety Training & Tutoring Institute (ENSTTI) worked together to present the online course from 7-10 September.
“Achieving ISO 29993:2017 certification supports long-term sustainability and structured processes to develop training material, deliver courses, and assist learners in their knowledge acquisition journey,” Raquel Delgado, WINS Programme Manager, said.
Led by Anna Benattar from ENSTTI, the course included lectures, practical case studies, and group discussions. To comply with COVID-19 related restrictions, the training was delivered online through live sessions, breakout sessions and a discussion board where learners could receive peer-to-peer and instructor support.
“By offering the training course online, WINS was able to adjust to the circumstances and offer the same high-quality training in a safe and effective format,” Raquel added.
The participants learned how ISO 29993:2017 requirements are integrated into the quality management approach and how these requirements will be implemented in practice. The course also enabled them to identify the quality requirements of ISO 29993: 2017 for learning providers that use a Global Management System or Systematic Approach to Training.
The project is part of a wider effort by WINS to support the establishment and sustainable operation of a Nuclear Security Support Centre in Thailand, based at the Office of Atoms for Peace.
