WINS Executive Director Dr Roger Howsley is presenting a major benchmarking study comparing security in the civil nuclear and aviation sectors at ICONS as part of a technical session on Advances in Nuclear Security Research and Development.
This research project compares the evolution and future security challenges faced by the civil nuclear and aviation sectors with the purpose of identifying transferable best practices between them. The research study, funded by the MacArthur Foundation, has comprised a comprehensive analysis of the publicly available information on aviation and civil nuclear security.
Completed in consultation with experienced practitioners in both sectors and incorporating the insight of countless individuals with responsibilities for aviation and nuclear security, this research programme is the most comprehensive effort ever undertaken to benchmark security in these critical sectors, determine root causes of any differences, and identify opportunities for cross-sector improvement.
WINS invites ICONS attendees to join the session in Boardroom B in the M-Building from 11:00 to 12:30 Thursday, 13 February. The full report will also be available on our website.
